K Drama Review-The 1st shop of coffee prince

Country: South Korea

Year : 2007

Cast : Yoon Eun-hye, Gong Yoo, Lee Sun-kyun, Chae Jung-an.

Another classic!

You know you are so much desperate for job when you pretend to be a man where in reality you are a woman. This is a story of 24 years old Go Eun-chan who is the only earning member of a family of three-she,her sister and mother. She is often mistaken for a boy owing to her tomboyish appearance. Choi Han-kyul belongs to rich family having coffee business. According to his family, he does not have sense of responsibility. Therefore his grandmother challenges him to run a coffee shop (coffee prince) to prove his mettle . He hires only male workers( prince you know!)

He meets Go-chan and thinks that she is actually a man. He hires her in his coffee shop. Go-chan being in need of steady job also plays along not revealing her true identity. It starts with their playful teasing but eventually he starts having feelings for her which makes him confused over his preferences. so much so, he decides to make her his sworn brother. The drama revolves around how they deal with their feelings.

There is one other couple in the drama. Han kyul's first love Han Yoo-joo who marries his cousin Han sung. They do have very complicated relationship. Then there are families of both leads, staff in the coffee shop, some birth secrets, two ajhushis hitting over Go chan's mother.

The drama takes time for character development. It is slow but refreshing as the characters are not flashy at all. The male lead is having laid back personality and the female lead is actually a tomboy. This drama has some of the best dialogues of the drama land.

"Whether you’re a man, or an alien...I don’t care anymore."

Another best part could be the acting and chemistry of the leads. I have came to a conclusion that no matter how strong actors are without their chemistry as a group the drama will be bland. Worry not. In this one, they have good one.

This drama is suitable for relaxed summer time. So gear up if you have not watched it yet. If you have then I am sure you will not mind watching it again.

Review-Reply 1988

There are 3 dramas in 'Reply' series. I have watched only 1988 version, TWICE. Let me tell you, every episode is almost 1.5 hours yet I have no regrets. As the name suggests this series takes place in the year 1988. It is story of five childhood friends and their families living in Ssangmun-dong neighborhood of Seoul. Duk seon is the only girl in the group of five. Sun Woo is student council president. Jung-Hwan is from rich family. Choi Taek is brilliant Baduk player who has left school to focus on his game. Dong Ryong is mischievous and has no interest in studies. These friends often hang out in Taek's room, dancing, arguing, eating pizza and ramen, watching video tapes. The drama shows daily life and struggles of everyone and how their friendship changes subtly over the course of time. It also has second set of characters-the parents and the siblings. They are also equal part of the drama. The cinematography is really good. If you are 90's kid then you

Anime Review- Erased

Erased/ Boku Dare Ga Inai Machi Meaning- The town without me Country: Japan Genre: Shounen/Seinen There are certain events in our lives which have impacted everything afterwards. Some are good some might be bad ones. What if we are given a chance to go back to the past and try to correct that event to our favor? Sounds exciting as well as frightening! Same chances are given to Satoru Fujinuma.  He is 29 years old struggling manga artist who also works as pizza delivery man. He has special ability termed as 'revival' which sends him back in time just few moments before the a tragedy. He does not have any control over this ability. Usually he will be sent back in time just for one to five minutes before incident takes place. On one day, his mother is murdered and 'revival' kicks in. But he is sent back in time by 18 years! Back in those days, he is just a school going kid living with his single mother. He wonders what he has to co

Review-Kaichou wa Maid Sama!

Kaichou wa Maid Sama! (The class president is a maid! ) What will happen if someone finds out your best kept secret? Have you ever wondered how protagonist girl in the typical Shoujo anime world is often portrayed as fragile, innocent and oblivious. If you are looking for change then you should definitely check the female lead here- Ayuzawa Misaki. She is student council president of Seika high school. It was previously boys only school notorious for rowdy students. Misaki has been working hard to make the place better for girl students. She is fearless, authoritative and strives for well-being of school. However in the eyes of boys she is the villain as she puts lot of restriction on them. Behind this facade of strictness, she is harboring a secret. Being from not so well to do household she has been working as part timer at Maid cafe. The 'maid Misaki' is completely opposite of her school personality. She has not told anyone  as people will judge her. It will ruin
