Anime Review- Erased

Erased/ Boku Dare Ga Inai Machi

Meaning- The town without me
Country: Japan
Genre: Shounen/Seinen

There are certain events in our lives which have impacted everything afterwards. Some are good some might be bad ones. What if we are given a chance to go back to the past and try to correct that event to our favor? Sounds exciting as well as frightening!

Same chances are given to Satoru Fujinuma.  He is 29 years old struggling manga artist who also works as pizza delivery man. He has special ability termed as 'revival' which sends him back in time just few moments before the a tragedy. He does not have any control over this ability. Usually he will be sent back in time just for one to five minutes before incident takes place.

On one day, his mother is murdered and 'revival' kicks in. But he is sent back in time by 18 years!

Back in those days, he is just a school going kid living with his single mother. He wonders what he has to correct exactly from all those 18 years. Slowly he remembers that time and realizes that he has an opportunity to solve serial kidnapping and murder mystery.

He is an adult trapped in the body of child. So he has to think like an adult but act how a child would. That gives him different way of looking at the things. It is pretty interesting to watch how he chases the murder with the help of his friends. Will he be able to save the kids from brutal murder? Who is the murderer? How the actions in the past will change the future events? All those answers will be unfolded as the show proceeds.

Why it is recommended
  • Fast paced episodes and intriguing plot in first part
  • Limited episodes
  • Nice opening track by Asian Kung Fu Generation
What could have been better
  • Identification of culprit is easy
  • Ending is little disappointing
  • Gets dark and creepy at some situations
Although I did not find it worth the hype, it certainly is worth your time.

Review-Reply 1988

There are 3 dramas in 'Reply' series. I have watched only 1988 version, TWICE. Let me tell you, every episode is almost 1.5 hours yet I have no regrets. As the name suggests this series takes place in the year 1988. It is story of five childhood friends and their families living in Ssangmun-dong neighborhood of Seoul. Duk seon is the only girl in the group of five. Sun Woo is student council president. Jung-Hwan is from rich family. Choi Taek is brilliant Baduk player who has left school to focus on his game. Dong Ryong is mischievous and has no interest in studies. These friends often hang out in Taek's room, dancing, arguing, eating pizza and ramen, watching video tapes. The drama shows daily life and struggles of everyone and how their friendship changes subtly over the course of time. It also has second set of characters-the parents and the siblings. They are also equal part of the drama. The cinematography is really good. If you are 90's kid then you

Suspicious Partner

When you witness a crime but you don't know you have witnessed the crime but criminal feels that you have. He does't know that you don't know he knows. Okay! Enough of this ' They don't know you know they know ' stuff! ( I admit I am a big time "friends' fan) Now back to the story.  Who doesn't love crime, suspense, court room drama with a pinch of romance (and very hot Ji Chang Wook)? Bong Hee (Nam Ji Hyun) is struggling trainee prosecutor who comes to know that her boyfriend is cheating on her. Angry yet helpless, all she could do is to curse him death every time they pass by each other. And to her surprise on one fated night, he is found murdered in her apartment! She becomes the a prime suspect. To add to her misery, the prosecutor for this case is Noh Ji Wook (Ji Chang Wook) under whom she is undergoing her training.  He is the topper from the office in list of 'the worst prosecutor'. He is disliked by everyone- his
